Northern Soul (2014)

Northern Soul was popular with British youths in the 1970s, taking the North of the country by storm. The film tells the tale of two Northern boys whose worlds are changed forever when they discover black American soul music.

Award-winning director Elaine Constantine completed filming her first feature-length film Northern Soul back in 2013. The film’s phenomenally successful theatrical release has broken numerous industry records, as has sales of the DVD, achieving the number one position in the DVD sale charts on Amazon even before it was released.

Peter Grimes on Aldeburgh Beach (2013)

The film Peter Grimes on Aldeburgh Beach – premièred in the UK on 1st September 2013 and had a nationwide theatrical release in September. It had an encore release on 22nd November and a DVD release on 25th November 2013.

‘Peter Grimes’ by composer Benjamin Britten is appreciated by opera audiences around the globe for its visceral beauty and moving portrayal of a small seaside community, struggling to accept the fisherman Peter Grimes, whose young apprentices have disappeared in suspicious circumstances. As part of Britten’s centenary ‘Peter Grimes’ came home in a landmark open-air staging by Aldeburgh Music of ‘Grimes on the Beach’, on the very beach that inspired the opera. This unique event was captured for exclusive cinema screenings and DVD release.
