Genesius Pictures is dedicated to developing and producing high quality film for audiences in the UK and across the world via traditional and emerging platforms. Genesius Pictures was co-founded by Producer Debbie Gray and Executive Producer Julian Gleek following their success with BAFTA nominated and award-winning Northern Soul, the debut feature film of Elaine Constantine.
Meet the Team
Julian Gleek – Chairman
Julian is the Managing Director of Genesius Theatrical Productions who were co-producers of the award-winning musical South Pacific (Barbican, 2011 and UK Tour 2011-2012), and Scottish Opera and D’Oyly Carte’s production of Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance (UK Tour, 2013). Julian brings a wealth of business knowledge and acumen to the team, having been the Finance Director, and then Managing Director, of the Burford Group of Companies for over 25 years.
Debbie Gray – Managing Director
Debbie is a Producer and Executive Producer, who has produced all of Genesius Pictures projects. With over 20 years experience in Film, Television and Music, Debbie has delivered many hours of content to all the major UK broadcasters. As well as producing, Debbie, a qualified lawyer, practiced media law and business affairs for thirteen years, working on films including Sliding Doors, The English Patient and 24 Hours in London.
Robbie Little – Director of Sales & Distribution
Robbie has over forty years experience in the film sales and distribution business. During this time he co-founded the Overseas Filmgroup in 1980, then established First Look Media to package, finance and distribute theatrical motion pictures in the U.S. domestic market. In 2006 Robbie founded the Little Film Company, its first project being the Oscar winning Tsotsi. Robbie has played a role in financing, producing and/or distributing over 300 films and is very well placed to understand, not only what makes a great award-winning film, but also the best routes to market, with a view to making a film commercially as well as critically successful.
Sam Cornish – Production Executive
Sam graduated in 2014 with an Honours Degree in Film Production from the Cambridge School of Art. Prior to joining Genesius, Sam free-lanced within the industry for 2 years working mainly in production on TV, film & commercials. With a strong interest in drama and narrative film making, Sam has taken on the role of Production Executive and assists with all major projects and releases on the Genesius slate, most recently The More You Ignore Me.
